4 Reasons to Own a 2017 Jeep Patriot if You’re in Your 20s

Jeep-Patriot-Fresno

If you’re in your 20s, there are a few things that are likely to be true about you. You’re either in college or you’re a recent graduate, in which case you have at least some college debt to take care of. You have an entry-level position in the career of your choice, or you’re working part-time or full-time at a temporary job. You’re old enough to be independent but young enough to not have kids, plus you’re just the right age to try new and exciting things. All of these things make the Jeep Patriot a great choice.

1. Price

As a compact crossover, the Patriot is one of Jeep’s cheapest vehicles, and a new model has a starting MSRP of under $20,000. Not only is that affordable for a recent college grad, it’s also one of the lowest numbers you’ll find in its class, and the subcompact Jeep Renegade is only cheaper by a hair. Get a used model and you could stand to save even more or else get more features per dollar.

2. Mopar Appearance Upgrades

Jeep owners love to accessorize, and Jeep helps them out by offering appearance upgrades with new models and aftermarket kits that can help you customize your Patriot’s design to make it unique. These can include new door guards, pedals, mats, cargo storage systems, wheel designs and colors, and more. For instance, the 75th Anniversary Edition features bronze-color wheels and a unique Recon Green paint job, and the new Sport SE trim comes with tough vinyl and mesh seats and a hood with a unique design.

3. Trail Rated Skills

Jeep only gives its Trail Rated badge to the trims and models that deserve it. The Patriot models that earn the badge are the ones that come with the Freedom Drive II Off-Road Group. This is a full-time 4×4 system that starts with Freedom Drive I and adds an Off-Road mode, Hill Descent Control with grade-sensing features, and a better ratio for the crawl gear. Other available features include tow hooks and all-terrain tires, so if you want to experience an off-road course, the Patriot can take you there.

4. Interior Comforts

You might not be able to afford a luxury sedan as a 20-something, but that doesn’t mean you have to settle for less. The Jeep Patriot can come with some excellent interior features, including a power sunroof, heated front seats, automatic temperature control, and an infotainment system with a 6.5-inch touchscreen that comes with a free year of SiriusXM Radio when you buy new. Some models even come with a clever pair of speakers in the liftgate that fold out to give you great sound quality during a tailgate party.

Not everyone in their 20s has the same life and the same needs and wants as every other 20-something, and not everyone will want or need a Jeep Patriot. However, there are plenty of young adults out there who need an inexpensive car with space, comforts, room to grow, and a spirit of adventure. For those buyers, the Jeep Patriot is a great pick.
