Cleaning, Wipers, Lights

First, clean the car inside and out. Think of it as shaking off the dry, hot summer months as you clear the grill and windshield of any debris. Have your car detailed as well, in order to spot new problems early.

Your wiper blades have likely grown cracked and dull from disuse and will need to be replaced. Fresh wipers will increase your visibility while driving.

Check your brakes, brake lights, headlights, and be sure they are all working. Test and replace the bulbs as needed. As the weather shifts, the roads will get much slicker and more treacherous. You need your brakes and all your lights in solid condition.

Oil, Air Filter, Battery

Get your oil checked and changed. While you’re at it, change the transmission fluid and brake fluid as well. Check your battery’s health and connections and replace them if necessary. Check your air filter and have it replaced.

A/C and Heater

You’ll need to check your air conditioning and heater. When the cold weather really kicks in, you’ll need not only your heater in good shape but also all your related amenities, such as heated seats, steering wheel, and side mirrors.
