Removing the Doors on Your Jeep Wrangler

The door removal process on the Jeep Wrangler is straightforward and youā€™ll have all of the equipment you need to remove the doors when you drive off from the dealership.

  1. Make sure your windows are rolled down before you start the process to avoid any potential damage to the glass. The door-removal supply kit should be located in your center console.
  2. Use the number 50 torque head driver to remove the screws from the upper and lower hinges on the door. Each of the screws will fit into the convenient tray found in the doorway.
  3. Then, youā€™ll need to remove the plastic wiring cover, which should unclaspĀ by pulling straight back. Once the wiring is exposed, carefully unlock the wiring head and unplug the wires. You can store the wiring connecter right inside the lower door basket.
  4. At this point, youā€™ll be able to use the number 40 torque head driver to remove the screw from the door check.
  5. Finally, swing the door open and carefully lift it straight up to remove the door. These stepsĀ the identicalĀ for the rear doors, although youā€™ll need to slide the front seats forward to access the wiring head in the rear.
