Where to Find the Best Hot Dogs in Fresno

Best-Hot-Dog-in-Fresno

Nearly every city in the country has a particular way to eat a hot dog. People from these towns will tell you theirs is the only one way to enjoy them, and everything else is blasphemy. However, they’re denying themselves some of the delectable ways to prepare America’s best cut of meat between a bun. If you’re in the Fresno area, you have a bevy of options to find your perfect idea of the best dog. Here are just a few of the hot spots to get you started on your quest for Fresno’s most delicious weiner.

Rocket Dog Gourmet Brats & Brew

Some might argue that a sausage doesn’t constitute a hot dog, but then again, they’ve probably never been to Rocket Dog. They combine food, brews, and fun into one convenient and entertaining package. All of their sausages, whether chicken, pork, or beef, come from the Meat Market in nearby Clovis. They’re free of nitrates, preservatives, and the mystery meat that lesser sausages and hot dogs are notorious for containing. A trip here isn’t complete without the Gangnam, which features a chicken sausage on a grilled baguette topped with generous portions of Sriracha mayo, fresh jalapeno, cilantro, and pickled veggies.

Wienerschnitzel

With locations in 10 states and the country of Guam, Wienerschnitzel is the chain restaurant that’s still one of the best, even if you like to support local businesses. There’s no shame in plopping down a few bucks for their mouth-watering wieners that range from plain to fully loaded. Traditionalists can indulge in their take of the Chicago dog, while others will enjoy the fiery Blazin’ Chili Cheese Dog. All hot dogs are 100 percent beef, meaning you can chow down without any regret.

Brown Bear’s Hot Dogs

As much as the name might imply it, these hot dogs aren’t made from a fresh brown bear. That’s just what the husband/wife tandem of Benjamin and Jennifer Chu-Raya decided to call their now-famous hot dog joint. At Brown Bear’s, they only use 100 percent, quarter-pound beef hot dogs that are sure to cure what ails you. The pastrami dog and BBQ dog are two great options, but the owners’ Korean heritage makes for some amazing creations. Try the K-Town Dog, which tops one of their dogs with lettuce, tomato, onion, sesame seed, and marinated garlic topped with their tangy Korean barbecue sauce. It’s a can’t-miss.

United Artists Broadway Faire 10

It seems counterintuitive to think that a movie theater could have the best hot dogs in town, but United Artists Broadway Faire 10 has other ideas. Instead of spending a fair bit of change on a bucket of popcorn, opt for the hot dog. Each dog here is an official Nathan’s hot dog, topped just the way you like it and cooked to perfection. It’s a bit sloppy to eat, so make sure to bring extra napkins, especially if you’re a fan of the horror genre.

In the hot dog business, Fresno can never have the allure of Chicago, but it definitely has enough choices to suit your tastes. Just make sure to find a good place to take a nap when you’re done.
